Meet KIDOPTIC

KIDOPTIC was created with a simple purpose: to help every child see the world clearly, comfortably, and confidently.

We know that choosing children's glasses is not just a purchase. It's an important decision for a child's health, learning, and daily life. That's why
we created an online store dedicated exclusively to the needs of children and their families.

Behind KidOptic is the experience of The Optical Center Mantzouratos, a family-run optical business with a presence in Athens and two physical stores that have been serving families daily for many years. Our love for optics and personal care for every customer are the foundation upon which KIDOPTIC was built.

Every prescription is checked by specialized staff before lens manufacturing, and when necessary, we communicate with the parent to suggest the most suitable solution. Our goal is not just to sell a pair of glasses, but to ensure that every child has the best possible vision for their specific needs.

At KIDOPTIC, we combine the convenience of online shopping with the safety and expertise of a real optical center. Because when it comes to a child's eyes, trust makes all the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the right size for my child?

To help you choose, each product includes the exact frame dimensions.

As a general guide:

Age

Typical Lens Width

2-4 years

40-43 mm

4-6 years

42-45 mm

6-8 years

44-47 mm

8-10 years

46-49 mm

10-12 years

48-51 mm

12-14 years

49-53 mm

Ages are indicative. Every child has different facial features. If your child already wears glasses that fit well, you can send us a photo or the dimensions of the existing frame, and we will help you choose the right size.

Should I choose a metal or plastic frame?

Both options can be great for a child. Metal frames are usually lighter and often feature nose pads for a better fit. Acetate frames are typically more durable for everyday use and come in more colors and designs. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you choose.

Should I choose glasses with nose pads or without?

Nose pads allow for a more customised fit and can help if glasses slip. Frames without nose pads usually have fewer components and are a very practical solution for daily use by children. The best choice depends on the child's face and needs.

I'm not sure which lens to choose. What can I do?

Don't worry. You can choose the lens you deem appropriate and upload your child's prescription. Our team will check the prescription before proceeding with manufacturing and will contact you if a different or better option is needed.

Which lens does my child need?

The appropriate choice depends on the prescription, age, and daily activities of the child. Most parents choose lenses with an anti-reflective coating, UV protection, hardening for greater scratch resistance, and highly durable materials suitable for children.

Does my child need thinner lenses?

Not always. For low prescriptions, a standard lens is usually perfectly suitable. For higher degrees of myopia or hyperopia, a thinner lens can offer reduced thickness, lower weight, better aesthetics, and greater comfort. If we believe that a thinner lens would provide a significant advantage, we will contact you before production begins.

Do you check the prescription before the glasses are made?

Yes. Every prescription is checked by specialized personnel before the lenses are made. We examine the correct entry of the powers, the suitability of the frame, and if there is a better lens option for the child's needs.

What if there's a better lens option for my child?

If we determine that a different lens would offer significant advantages, such as reduced thickness, lighter weight, increased durability, or better aesthetics, we will contact you before production begins. We do not make any changes without your approval.

Can I use a prescription from an insurance fund?

Yes. We fulfill prescriptions covered by insurance funds. If you have an e-prescription, please contact us at info@kidoptic.gr before completing your order so we can guide you through the process and the necessary documents.

Can I upload my recipe later?

Yes. If you do not have your prescription available at the time of ordering, you can contact us to guide you on how to send it. The production of the glasses will begin as soon as we receive and check the prescription.

Can I send a photo of the prescription from my phone?

Yes. You can upload a photo or a scanned copy of your prescription. If the image is not legible, we will contact you before proceeding with the order.

What happens if the prescription I uploaded is unreadable or incorrect?

In this case, we do not proceed with the build. Our team will contact you to confirm the details or request a new prescription.

What if I don't know the crown distances or other technical measurements?

Do not worry. If information is missing or additional measurements are required, our team will contact you and guide you step by step.

Can I contact you before I complete my order?

Of course. For any questions regarding size, lenses, prescription, or insurance, you can contact us at info@kidoptic.gr. We will be happy to assist you before any purchase.

How long do manufacturing and shipping take?

Frames and accessories are usually shipped within 3-5 business days. Prescription glasses with high prescriptions or custom lenses usually take 5-10 business days.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free for orders over 80€ throughout Greece.

What if my child doesn't easily adjust to new glasses?

Adapting to new glasses usually takes a few days. If you still experience difficulty after the adaptation period, please contact us so we can review the prescription and the lens manufacturing together.

Do you offer glasses repair service?

Children are active, and accidents happen. In cooperation with The Optical Center, we have a specialized repair department that can fix most damage to frames and glasses. In most cases, repair costs significantly less than purchasing new frames.

What happens if the glasses break or get damaged?

Children are active and accidents happen. In collaboration with The Optical Center, we have a specialized repair department that can fix most damage to frames and glasses. In most cases, repairs cost significantly less than buying new frames.

Can I order just a frame without lenses?

Yes. For selected products, it is possible to purchase only the frame, without prescription lenses.

Can I buy a second pair of glasses with the same prescription?

Of course. If we already have your prescription, or if you send it to us again, we can make a second pair of glasses.

Are there real opticians behind KidOptic?

Yes. KidOptic operates in collaboration with The Optical Center, a family-owned optical business with two physical stores in Athens. Behind every pair of children's glasses, there is a real inspection by an optician.

Can I return or exchange an item?

For products not made to a customised prescription, changes or returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided they are in their original condition and have not been used. Changes and returns can also be made at The Optical Center's physical stores.

Can I return prescription glasses?

Prescription glasses with customized lenses are made specifically for each customer and are non-refundable, unless there is a manufacturing defect or an error in order fulfillment.

What if I receive a defective product?

If you receive a product with a manufacturing defect or a problem not caused by use, please contact us immediately so we can proceed with its replacement or resolution of the issue.

Why choose KidOptic?

Because we combine the convenience of online shopping with the security of a physical optical store. Every prescription is checked by specialized staff before manufacturing, we offer support before and after purchase, we cater to insurance prescriptions, and we have access to a specialized repair department. Our goal is not simply to sell a pair of glasses, but to help every child see the world in the best possible way.
